What this program is

Akron Realty is conducting user research. Later on, we intend to launch an early pilot of a managed letting service in Lagos. This program will help us understand how renters, landlords, and agents experience the rental process and allows us to test structured ways of managing listings, viewings, and communication.

Participation in this form or research does not guarantee inclusion in the pilot.

Who this pilot is for

This pilot is intended for:

  • Renters searching for property in Lagos
  • Landlords with rental property in Lagos
  • (Agents may be included for research insight)

Capacity is limited and selection is based on the current research and pilot needs.

What participation may involve

Depending on the role and selection:

Renters may:

  • Join an online focus group session
  • Be contacted about pilot property opportunities
  • Participate in structured viewings and feedback sessions

Landlords may:

  • Be contacted to discuss onboarding property into the pilot
  • Provide basic property information and documents
  • Participate in structured listing and viewing process

Agents (research only) may:

  • Share experience about the rental market
  • Provide insight into current practices

Participation levels vary and not all applicants will be contacted.

No guarantees

Participation in this research or pilot does not guarantee:

  • selection into the pilot
  • access to a property or tenant
  • completion of a rental transaction
  • timelines for matching or onboarding

The pilot is exploratory and processes may change as we learn.

Nature of the service

During this stage:

  • we are testing structured coordination of listings, communication, and viewings
  • we are not providing legal advice
  • any document review or checks are informational and do not replace independent legal or professional verification
  • final rental agreements remain between the landlord and tenant unless otherwise agreed in future formal service arrangements

Communication

Shortlisted participants may be contacted via email or WhatsApp regarding:

  • focus group scheduling
  • pilot participation opportunities
  • research follow-up

Participants may opt out of communication at any time.

Incentives

Focus group participants receive a reward after completing the session. Details will be provided when sessions are completed.
